Strengthening the healthcare supply chain

The purchasing centers for essential medicines in Africa have a public health mission coupled with a public service mission. They constitute the linchpin of the healthcare provision of health policies of which universal health coverage remains the main objective. Alongside these strategic players, other players in the drug chain intervene, sometimes regulators, operators, actors or service providers.

All these stakeholders work within health systems, each with its specificity of action and the originality of its intervention, public or private actors, working to guarantee health for all.  The healthcare offering is made up of a multiplicity of players constituting the health product supply chain. Despite the importance of their fields of action, these actors benefit little from a capacity-building system intended to strengthen capacities. This results in highly stressed supply chains whose performance falls short of expectations despite the improvements observed over the years, due to a lack of qualified personnel.
Faced with this problem, ACAME conducted a regional study in 2022 on the needs to strengthen actors in the health product supply chain. This revealed a disconnect between the training needs of supply chain actors and available training offers.
With its network of 22 member countries and experience in capacity building for more than 30 years, in accordance with its mission to support each country in improving the availability and accessibility of quality health products , ACAME has set up the Training and Expertise Center (CFEA). This unique center of excellence on the African continent aims to offer high-level qualifying training, in order to accelerate the growth and performance of country systems for access to quality health products, wherever needed, so that never again will any life be threatened by the lack of health products.
The ACAME Training and Expertise Center is a tool for all African countries and beyond, a platform for training, sharing experiences, pooling knowledge in order to protect ourselves against future pandemics and also guarantee universal access on the African continent, to a quality healthcare offer everywhere.
Our training offers intended for professionals will certainly contribute to accelerating health for all, through:
